Recently the team from New Bath Hotel and Spa visited the Heights of Abraham. This fantastic venue, located less than a mile from the hotel, is an outstanding venue and offers something for everyone.

The picturesque setting of the venue is located in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales which form the stunning backdrop to Matlock Bath. There are easy access routes available by train, bus, car and coach. The nearest train station is Matlock Bath station which is situated a mere 400 metre walk from the Heights of Abraham

As one of the Peak District’s most popular destinations, the Heights of Abraham have been open for business since 1780. Visitors can experience two guided cave tours where they can enjoy exploring Masson and Rutland caverns. Visitors will also be able to enjoy the majestic views of Tinker’s Shaft;  this viewing platform provides stunning panoramic views of the once bustling mining landscape.

Finally, guests will be able to enjoy an incredible Cable Car journey. Hang on tight as the cable car travels for about two thirds of a mile at almost 568 metres above the ground allowing stunning views of the Derwent Valley and the surrounding Peak District. When the cable car arrives at the summit, guests have free access to the hilltop park.

Reviews on TripAdvisor are brilliant as one visitor said: ‘Brilliant day out with so much to do. We did the cave tour which both children enjoyed and they loved the adventure playground too. Definitely recommended as a good family day out. Will be back.’
